FDTR Submissions Policy
To be considered for publication on the Food Down the Road website, submissions must be in line with our Editorial Policy. You must include your full name and a short description of yourself. By submitting content, you agree to allow our editorial committee to edit your work in any way for publication. To encourage readability we would like submissions to be less than 1200 words but we will consider longer pieces.
Food Down the Road would like to encourage the public both from the farm community and otherwise to contribute appropriate content for publication. That content will be reviewed by the Food Down the Road editorial committee to determine its appropriateness in advancing the goals of Local 316. Some of the material that might be considered could include references to the following;
- NFU related initiatives
- Food and farm techniques
- Local food recipies
- Land use issues that affect farm land
- Environmental issues that effect farm land and farming practices
- Farmer training
- Consumer awareness of local food issues
Please note the the FDTR editorial committee reserves the right to determine which submisions are published.
It is difficult to improve in the style recommendation of The Economist. “Clarity of writing usually follows clarity of thought. So think what you want to say, then say it as simply as possible.”
