Local 316 Fall Feast, Nov. 3 -- another successful fundraiser

The Third Annual Local 316 Fall Feast continued the pattern of being sold out in advance of the event, and of providing a splendid local meal for 100 happy eaters.  Funds raised by the event are used to support young and new farmers in attending conferences, workshops and other learning opportunities.  Thanks to the generosity of the feast attendees, contributors and volunteers, Local 316 has sponsored several local people in attending such event

Local 316 Presents its First Annual 4-H Scholarship

National Farmers Union Local 316 (Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox-Addington) has initiated an annual scholarship of $400 for a 4-H member attending university or college.  

Fundraising Campaign for Young Farmers Gathering in March, 2019

The National Farmers Union in Ontario is running a crowdfunding campaign for its farm youth convergence in 2019, and has reached more than 85% of its goal of $8000.  With the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario matching donations, any money contributed at this point will be matched by EFAO.

Food Security event, Mon., Nov. 19, at AKA Autonomous Social Centre, 6:30 to 8 pm

Just Food's 2019 Start-up Farm Program -- application deadline Nov. 18

Started in 2012, the Just Food Farm is where people and projects come together to model and inspire small-scale, viable agriculture businesses and initiatives in the Ottawa region.
